About EQAO

EQAO stands for the Education Quality and Accountability Office. It is Ontario’s provincial agency for assessing student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics at key stages of school, based on the Ontario curriculum.

Its mandate is to help improve the quality and accountability of Ontario’s education system. It develops student assessments, publishes reliable results, and helps educators, families and the public use that information to support student learning.
